
Olga Panchenko
Lawyer, human rights advocate, and corresponding member of the European Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. She is also the editor-in-chief of the peer-reviewed journal, Newsletter on the Results of Scholarly Work in Sociology, Criminology, Philosophy, and Political Science.
She has over 18 years of professional experience in the legal field and is an expert in criminal, corporate, and civil law, as well as the protection of intellectual property rights. As a practicing attorney and a member of the Ukrainian National Bar Association (UNBA), Panchenko focuses on defending the integrity of the legal profession. She is a member of the UNBA’s Committee on the Protection of Advocates’ Professional Rights and Guarantees. She intervenes in cases where lawyers’ rights are threatened, providing legal assistance and engaging with professional associations to address violations of due process and legal defense standards.
Her work in human rights is distinguished by legal advocacy and active international engagement. She is regarded as a legal expert on the protection of freedom of conscience and belief in the post-Soviet region. In 2017, she spoke at an international conference in Rome on the protection of the rights to freedom of conscience and religion. In 2018, she reported on violations of journalists’ rights in Ukraine at the annual OSCE human rights conference in Warsaw on behalf of the Belgian organization Human Rights Without Frontiers.
