Ognjen Kojanić
Socio-cultural anthropologist based in Belgrade, Serbia. He is working on a book manuscript, tentatively titled “Reluctant Owners: Managing Labor, Class, and Institutions in Postsocialist Capitalism,” which focuses on the case of ITAS, a worker-owned machine tool factory in Croatia. In his current research project, he examines how urban infrastructural projects developed or proposed over the past century have shaped human-environment relations in Belgrade, Serbia. Previously, he was a labor organizer with the United Steelworkers working on campaigns to unionize graduate student workers, faculty, and staff at the University of Pittsburgh.
