Bárbara Magalhães Teixeira
Peace and conflict researcher and educator whose work examines the interconnections between nature, conflict, and peace. Her research engages with issues of extractivism, inequality, development, and security, with a particular focus on the structural causes of conflict and violence and on pathways toward sustainable peace.
In 2024, she defended her PhD thesis, “The Nature of Peace and the Continuum of Violence in Environmental Conflicts,” at Lund University in Sweden. She currently works as a researcher in the Climate Change and Risk Programme at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).
