Annette Schlemm
Physicist, philosopher and author. In addition to her professional work, she pursues issues of energy policy, nanotechnology in the field of photovoltaics, corporate organization and the philosophy of technology, on which she has written numerous essays. As part of the Zukunftswerkstatt Jena, she explores the question of what a humane and liveable society could look like in the future and gives lectures on planetary boundaries.
Her perspective as a native of the GDR, who was familiar with the prevailing philosophy there, explains her particular interest in the “events surrounding the end of the GDR and the associated questions about the causes of the collapse and possible prospects for further development.” She is involved in various initiatives focusing on climate policy and in a number of social movements.
